Dear Sir,
Pranams!
Thank you for sending your valuable inputs.
As you have rightly mentioned in the note attached, we need to
initiate systematic research on different aspects of protected
conditions and take up comparative studies to scientifically establish
the efficacy of Cow-based bio-enhancers like Bijamrita, Jiwamrita,
Panchagavya etc.
Look forward to more inputs from other group members in this regard,
Thankful regards,
Srinivas Rao

Dear Sir,
Pranams!
Thanks to your valuable inputs and those of Madan ji related to the Soil and its connection to human, animal & environment health.
And various conventional and traditional methods for revival of Soil fertility, waste land development etc need to be listed out (may be linked up with Gouchar Vikas) for implementation in UBA clusters.
As you have suggested earlier, we may plan for its initiation from the 'Goras' cluster (of Sheopur Dist, MP) besides the proposed clusters in Vidarbha.
And as you have directed, we had a detailed discussion with Shri Rajender Singh (who has done an extensive survey of 'Goras' region and built a good team of local volunteers) to set up a model Gouchar & Breed improvement Center of Gir Cattle.
As per Rajender ji's estimates, there are appr 2 to 2.25 lakhs gir cows in around 36 villages of Goras region... a very potential area for an ideal Breeding center.
The next meeting of CSBE group (to be presided by Dr Vijay Bhatkar ji) has been fixed for 8th Dec - on the concluding day of IISF at IIT-D to finalize the 'Concept note' on 'Green Economy' programme.
As Cow-based sustainable agriculture (that which also includes Homa farming) forms the major component of 'Green Economy', i am taking the liberty of CCing this e-mail to Sri KK Jakhar ji (an exponent of Zero-budget Natural Farming from Hanumangarh), Dr Ranvir Singh (IVRI, Izatnagar), Dr RK Pathak ji (providing expertise on Homa based Bio-enhancers) & Dr Ulrich Berk (exponent of Homa Organic Farming) to invite them for the above-mentioned Brain-storming session on 8th Dec @ IIT-D.

Look forward to more inputs on the initial draft of the 'concept note' from each of our online group experts.
Humble pranams,
Srinivas Rao

All agriculture produced by sick unhealthy soils is unhealthy and health of all animals and humans that live on that agriculture produce  are not healthy.

Dear Sir,
Namaste!

Thank you very much for your quick reply and extending your kindly support in setting up a Training center near Delhi.

We shall definitely include this proposal in our agenda of 8th Dec meet and shall try our best to get the approval of IIT-D and ICAR for their technical support.

So i request you to kindly fix your schedule to visit Delhi on 7th & 8th Dec, and if possible to stay back a couple of days for the necessary follow-up.

Also i take the opportunity to extend a warm welcome to Shri Ujjwal ji & Shri Sharma ji for the upcoming meet at IIT-Delhi on 8th Dec.

Look forward to more inputs and a continued support of all well-wishers in this noble cause in the service of our motherland.
Humble pranams,
Srinivas Rao

Dear Ujjawal/ Sharma ji

Please go through documents regarding the initiatives being taken by people interested to "Green Economy". Since there is discussion going on land which we saw is well suited for developing "Homa Jaivik Krishi center. Since the place is centrally located, hence IIT-D/ IARI could be involved to provide laboratory facilities for technical data collection. Practically we have seen response are exciting, but without  tag of any institutions, there is always question in mass acceptance by the society. If agreed, then I can visit Delhi on 7th and  8th and prepare some action plan. Since season for sowing of wheat is going on, I do not know the current development. please apprise with this.

CC- Srinivas- The field of Shree Ujjwal could be a right choice to develop an ideal training center.I have already visited it.

All the best

Dear Srinivas,
Thank you so much for sharing!

Chambal Division's challenging and difficult terrain, it might seem, has come to the rescue of wonderful Gir cows!
Perhaps within such large herds are also invaluable genetic resources which if characterised and curated intelligently and imaginatively can offer the foundation for much needed breed improvement.

However, one of the worst fears I feel in suggesting what I wish (below) is that the effort to open up a resource which has been protected to date (by an accident!) should not slip down the pervasive and destructive path of McDonaldization (literally and figuratively - see far below) that pervades societies around the world today!
Perhaps the first step should be to devise and method to stop the movement of these animals from these herds out of the currently protected region.
In terms of fine details of how to curate this wonderful resource, there are innumerable genetic loci which are now known to contribute to disease resistance, milk yield and various other quality and productivity parameters.  All of this can be readily deployed to empower the local community and provide them the confidence and the deserved dignity to continue to preserve and improve the breed locally.  And of course find a way to provide the local the basic needs for generating and income and also enough feed / fodder and sustainable and conducive living conditions for the animals.
Perhaps Dr Satish Kumar in CCMB Hyderabad and researchers at National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Haryana (NBAGR; www.nbagr.res.in/) and also at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Miyapur, Hyderabad, Telangana (www.niab.org.in/) are best placed and able to help and guide.
Thank you again for sharing.

Much love,
Madan

Dear friends,

While I am fully in sync with Cow based Green economy, we also need to take into account the environmental concerns of Methane emission from Cowdung manure. see for example :

This demands that cowdung available in Goshalas be fed into biogas plants asap to minimize the Global warming caused by methane emitted from it. This also needs to be emphasized.

regards,

Dear friends,
As I mentioned at the IIT meeting it is more important to build people's institutions that can own and manage the Green Economy. For this we need to identify and train local facilitators. This should be started immediately.
Please do not ignore this aspect.  We shall need huge numbers. This can be done.
I shall be happy to help.

Dear all,
Namaste !
Greetings and thankful regards to the valuable inputs sent by Madan ji, Prof Dhar ji, Dr Ran Vir ji and Shri Varun Vidyarthi ji.
As Madan ji has rightly pointed out, there is an every chance to slip down to the destructive path of McDonaldization .. hence we need to have a fool-proof plan for the proposed Breeding center in 'Goras' cluster.  And for this meticulous planning, suggestions from Prof Dhar ji, Dr Ran Vir ji and Shri Varun ji are of great significance and will be discussed further on 8th Dec.

Here i am taking the liberty of forwarding this mail to Shri Rajesh Verma (ABGUS- Akhil Bharatiya Grameen Utthan Samiti, Alwar) and Dr Onkar Mittal ji (SACH- Society for Action in Community Health, Delhi) - both of them sent their valuable inputs in separate mail-communications.
Look forward to your continued guidance in drafting an effective note on GREEN ECONOMY Initiative.

Humble pranams,
Srinivas Rao

Friends and all well Wishers of Vishwa guru Bharat,

While thanking for all the good works and sincere efforts I would like to just suggest
1. Please list clusters where cows are still in abundance or and explore how their impact on local economy can be holistically beneficial?
2.This study should bring out the holistic dimensions of climate change, local jobs, local GDP or local happiness level, migration impact, empowerment of locals, confidence and health building of the locals, and on the whole self reliance issues etc.
3. We have done pad yatra with shri Pradeep Gandhi ex MP in Rajnadgaon, Wardha and Bundelkhand area of Uttar pradesh. This has opened our eyes to the reality of local economy getting solid and stable if COWS COULD BE LINKED WITH LOCAL DEVELOPMNET IN A HOLISTIC MANNER
4. the problem is of mind set of all, compartmentalized approach to see and correct the problem without looking at it in a holistic manner, duplicating and even triplication efforts to correct things by involving the locals in a big way and not caring for the return on investments etc.
5. Now I am around 70 and would like all to take a holistic view of things and be frank as to potential of success of all our efforts both in short and long term.
6. HENCE, THIS IS ONLY FEED BACK TO TAKE AREA WISE APPROACH OR CONCENTRATE ON LOCALISATION EFFORTS IN TOTALITY. WORD LIKE CONVERGENCE, COORDINATION, RETRUN ON INVESTMENTS, MARKETING, INVOLVING THE LOCALS IN TOTALTITY ETC BECOMES VERY CRUCIAL FOR SUCCCESS.
7. I am also sure that the problems of farmers suicides, poverty, health, begging all the time etc can be effectively tackled when new and nature oriented planning with local resources is facilitated by all of us with all the policy fights.
My best wishes for the success of all these efforts and would like to volunteer for area wise holistic planning with DESHIPAN OR DESHI COW, DESHI BEEJ, DESHI BHASHA, DESHI SOUCH,DESHI LIFE STYLE ETC WITH ALL THE TECHNOLOGY FOR ENHANCING THE LOCALISATION IN THE MIDST OF ALL THE GLOBALISATION OR GVALA,,,,,GLOBAL VISION AND LOCAL ACTION BUT STARTING WITH LOCALISATION.
PRANAM AND GOOD WISHES FOR ALL THE EFFORTS.

Human aspirations have often been expressed in trinities. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Mind, Body and Spirit. Now in the age of ecology, Soil, Soul, Society is a new trinity, to inspire us to work towards a holistic world-view.
